The Banshee Diaries
Every Irish family of ancient stock has a Banshee, whose song is heard on the
death of one of its members. Appearing in the form of a young female or and old woman, the
Banshee comforts or terrifies. The greater the woman's affection for the family during her
lifetime, the gentler and more consoling her calls; the greater the injustice she
witnessed, the fiercer and more terrorizing her cries.
